Volunteer Your Help

Westminster Boating Base relies heavily upon the help of volunteers in order to run kayaking and sailing whilst maintaining the low membership fees.

Through working with Volunteer Centre Westminster, we are able to provide a full programme of training and support for volunteers. This includes a free CRB check, free training courses relevant to your role, and the opportunity to apply for funding to gain formal coaching qualifications. We will give you a full induction to your role, and ensure you enjoy your time spent volunteering with us.

Watersports Instructors
We are always seeking the support of qualified kayaking, sailing or powerboat Instructors and also assistance from those that are experienced in these sports. Westminster Boating Base was established in 1976 and operates on a daily basis on the tidal section of the River Thames - a very demanding piece of water with strong tidal flows. In return for your services, we offer the wealth of knowledge and experience of our staff.

General volunteering roles
There are many essential tasks that need to be completed on a regular basis which we rely upon volunteers for. Some jobs are more specialist than others but we will ensure you receive clear instruction and supervision as appropriate.

If you wish to be involved then please drop us an email (enquiries@westminsterboatingbase.co.uk) or call us on 020 7821 7389.
